ONE

In many things we do there are many ways that we can use to achieve our aims. For example, each of the four ways (roads) that come to Baltimore can all lead to Washington DC our national capital. In a similar way people often think there are many ways to God and that as one man takes this way, others can choose other ways. But this is not so If we are to be guided by pure Christian principles.

Our Lord Christ Jesus, who once came into this world and will one day come again to judge it, said while on earth, "I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE: no man comes unto the Father, but by me." (John 14.6.) Based on this statement, let us notice five "Ones" of God.

ONE WAY

There are many ways proposed for spending your life while on earth, and also satisfying your own self but there is only ONE WAY to God. (Matt. 7.13-14.) Unless all who worship God turn to accept Christ Jesus and live His Way, there is no salvation. (John 3.16-18.)

ONE MEDIATOR

Many have their Pastors, parents, husbands, wives and friends as their mediators. So without the consent of such people they will never change, agree or accept a new thing. Also there are many mediators between laborers and management, and marriage counselors between couples; but there is only ONE MEDIATOR between God and man. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus." (I Tim. 2.5.) Until we all hold on to Him we stand to lose.

ONE NAME

There are many famous names in politics like Abraham Lincoln of the U.S.A. In the world of sports we all know of Muhammed Ali, Pele, and more. Even In the service to God we know some great men like Abraham, Elijah, John and Paul, but there is only ONE NAME that all must know above all names. Please read Phil. 2.5-11. "Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" save Christ Jesus. (Acts 4.10-12.)

ONE TRUTH

There are many things in our world one can believe because they are true, but the eternal truth from God to man is In the Bible. "Thy word is true ... and endureth forever." (Ps. 119.160.) The only truth is Christ Jesus (John 14.6) and until the whole world accepts this truth, we stand to live in darkness.

ONE DECISION

There are many decisions to make on what kind of work to do, whom to marry, things to buy, places to visit, but there Is ONLY ONE DECISION which can totally affect your life now and in eternity. That is to give oneself to Jesus NOW! "Today is the day of salvation..." "And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (2 Cor. 6.2, Acts 22.16.) It is the decision to live faithfully unto death. (Rev. 2.10.)

CONCLUSION

"For other foundation can no man lay than (THE ONE) that is laid, which is Christ Jesus." (I Cor. 3.11.) ONE thing is needful (Luke 10.42) and that is to choose Christ and His Word.
